Heard of the Lavender Town and new Japanese Empire?
Re: Heard of the Lavender Town and new Japanese Empire?
It may be slightly disturbing to the senses.

Not to mine... But then again I'm 14 and apparently it only works on 6-12 year olds.

It made my eyes change zoom a little and move a bit.

It is a great feeling. I love the theme.

I know it sounds like BS, but I think this may be real. I found a list of a few of the victims and the effects on their bodies.
Oh and remember that thousands of kids played the games, but only a few hundred experienced side-effects, so it wasn't guaranteed to happen.

So if you use headphones, it's actually one in each ear, creating a binaural rhythm? I'll try it...

If, say, 10% of the Japanese population is of children that age and, say, 20% played Pokemon and those 75% ran away or commited suicide then that's 1,915,560 kids... It would be sort of hard to hide those numbers from the media, don't you think?

Re: Heard of the Lavender Town and new Japanese Empire?
People tend to relate everything to video games... Given the huge number of people who played pokemon, it's only natural a few of them have slightly rare conditions... Now from linking that to pokemon is outrageous... Just my opinion here though...

How big was Japan's population around 1996?

I used the current population number, but it's a huge number nonetheless..

You gotta remember that these was the first Pokemon games, and only first edition ones; so it was way before it caught on. Plus the 90s brought a REALLY bad economy to Japan and I doubt many people bought videogames like they do today.Arkannine wrote:If, say, 10% of the Japanese population is of children that age and, say, 20% played Pokemon and those 75% ran away or commited suicide then that's 1,915,560 kids... That's even more I believe...Pocket Monsters Red and Green set the precedent for what has become a blockbuster, multi-billion dollar franchise. In Japan, Red, Green, and the third version Blue combined have sold 10.23 million copies.

Oh, I have some bad news bowserpuffi, the theater isn't showing the movie we were going to see on thursday, but they're showing The A-Team, is that okay?

But that is lifetime sales over like 4 years. And first-edition usually only means the first 2000 copies or so, the first print of the game. VERY RARE to find nowadays.Arkannine wrote:That's even more I believe...Pocket Monsters Red and Green set the precedent for what has become a blockbuster, multi-billion dollar franchise. Why not watch Centurion or Inception?

Anything is good with me, but I'd be most happy with A-Team or Inception.

Idk, I guess it's up to you to decide wheter you want to believe or not. I don't think it has a lot of truth to it though...MrBowserPuffi wrote:But that is lifetime sales over like 4 years.
