ASDF has taken care of me for five years now. And look at me - I'm old and occasionally crotchety! An old, bearded man waving his index finger at you while slightly shaking his cane and muttering something. ASDF is a wonderful thing.

But digital formats are prone to movement, even if the file is stored locally the hard drive is spinning. Or even if using an SSD the image might be cached or whatever. Also the physical storage can be moving.
