I was in a tie with with Thingerdudes for Best Artist 2011, but they created these lovely banners so I'm grateful.

TREE(3) is a rather miniscule number, IMO

oh yea? Well it's HUGE compared to negative two million and seven, ever think about that?
but that's too much number talk, this isn't the counting thread, here we are only allowed to discuss Daily Things such as rotating over the course of 24 hours

Re: The Daily Thread
"Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy" is dirt cheap right now on steam. I've had it on my wishlist for the *checks notes* SEVEN YEARS since it's been out.
At this point I should either buy it or remove it from my wishlist.
idk, it's an infuriating game and I dunno if I really wanna put myself through it.

Re: The Daily Thread
That's actually a tough one.
If it's more than a couple dollars, I wouldn't bother. If it's only a few bucks, then it's not a huge loss if you buy it and only play it once.
That said,
I'd probably not buy it, but that's because I've already seen people beat the game.
It's basically a single-level platformer, so I'm not sure how much replayability it has.
Up to you but it's been a while since that game was in the spotlight, so IDK how much fun you'll get out of it. If you've heard of a "Difficult Game About Climbing" that's the spiritual successor of Getting Over It. I wouldn't get that one either if it's not free, because as previously mentioned I've already seen people beat the game.
--
If you haven't seen the full game yet, I still don't know how much you'd really be missing on. The level is fairly big but it's just the one, and honestly I don't think this game was ever 'fun' for anyone except youtubers, speedrunners and downright masochists (some people were in all 3 of those categories).
If you don't buy it now, defo remove it from your wishlist. Unless it goes free which games never do, you're not going to want to buy it for more if you are this torn up about buying it for less.

Just my advice

Re: The Daily Thread
Yeah, fair points I guess.
I think for these kinds of games it's not really about having seen it, it's more about experiencing the suffering firsthand. I guess it's a tiny bit of masochism in me that made me want to buy it. Instead of replayability, you get to do the same thing over and over because you've failed again.
I don't think I care much for difficult game about climbing, I'd much rather try Jusant (but I don't have a controller, maybe at some point)

Re: The Daily Thread
I think you're right, since it's not really story-driven or anything.
However, unlike most platformers, I don't know if GOI actually has any 'satisfying mechanics' or a 'fun main game loop'... so I think the replayability is still low
Once you've seen other people suffer through something, I don't know how much joy you'd get going through the same. That's not to say smashing your head against a wall ISNT fun (it can be, I suppose) but at least for me, I'd have gotten my fill of the game in its entirety by watching someone else do it, haha
---
If I were to be less wordy, I'd say the game is a bit 'gimmicky' and so I think its 1). mostly fun in theory and 2). only fun for a little while
Still, if you want to try and beat the game, that could be worth wasting an afternoon on... lol

Damn, beat me to it xD
Hehe, I also can recommend you this website Shruvvu, it has quite a few similar games on it:
galaxy.click
If you're looking for something much more high-investment and creativity-oriented, you can consider using
rpol.net
it's a roleplaying website that I've been using (under this same user name, actually) for about as long as I've been on ASDF.
If you're into that sort of thing, you might find something you like.

Re: The Daily Thread
I was confused by the skeleton, I thought maybe I should ask, but then I thought maybe it went like this:
- Shai starved to death
- then Evai let him out, but since Shai was dead, either his flesh has rotted away, or somehow removed (creepy!), and only his soul, and/or flesh was let out
- therefore only his skeleton remained in jail
- Shai starved to death
- then Evai let him out, Shai is now free to rob people (big if true)
- a skeleton materialized in the jail, due to [redacted]
