the origional donuts were reall dought-nuts, as the looked like giant nuts (food, not body part) made of dough.
Somehow, that managed to evolove into a dough ring with a hole in the middle. and yet, it is still called a dount.

Half of Krispy Kream donuts don't have holes in the middle, coz it's too packed with flour and other yummy, unhealthy crap.
