atomtengeralattjaro wrote:The Forums of ASDF turn, and Pages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. On one Page, called the Six Hundred and Ninety Fifth Page by some, a Page yet to come, a Page long past, a post was made by atomtengeralattjaro. The post was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Forums of ASDF. But it was a beginning.

I certainly believe so. I'm Not a huge church-goer, but i am a christian. i tend to wear the cross around my neck at times, and i believe in god.
For the afterlife, i strongly believe in heaven/hell. You know the drill for these.

In a way, we are all immortal. We as organisms can die and will die, but the soul is a very real thing. And, your soul cannot die. So, that is how we are immortal.

Okay, this agallaty86 person is new, and is posting nonsense apparently. Further posts will still need to be approved, I'm really unsure if it's a bot or just high.

I'd say we live in a less-racial society, but we're far from being post-racial.assdef wrote:Do we live in a post-racial society?
This weekend, I saw Finian's Rainbow for the first time. We don't have near the level of racially motivated behavior that's presented in that play/show.
However, yesterday I also watched a show called "What Would You Do?" It's a hidden camera sort of show, and it is presented as a kind of social experiment. They set up a scenario and let the cameras roll as everyday people come across the scenario. One of them was a person at a bike, with a saw and bolt cutters. This person claimed that they had misplaced their bike key or that they didn't have it with them for some reason. Three different people were put into this scenario: a white man; a black man; and a white, physically attractive girl. Granted, we can't be sure that the footage shown is truly representative of what happened throughout the filming, but the white guy had about as many people helping him as accusing him of trying to steal the bike, the black guy had almost everyone treating him like a thief, and the girl had almost everyone helping her out.
Granted, this is a "study" that's not very scientific at all, but it may illustrate some racial biases that a lot of people experience, whether it's conscious or not.

EDIT: I apparently missed actually having the answer in here. This may seem like a silly question, but do you have the check box marked that will keep you logged in? If not, you should do that. If you're worried about staying logged on at a work computer, you might consider logging on in a private window.soloman wrote:question: the forums keep needing me to relog after what seems like a few minutes. ive tried posting this question 3 times now and it always boots me back to login screen when i hit the submit button. so this is the short version i guess.
had to come back and actually edit in my question so i wouldnt lose the post! why is this happening?!?!?!

They are starting to do that now.atomtengeralattjaro wrote:Don't they also vote who will represent the party first?
Bernie Sanders was in a virtual tie with Hillary Clinton at the Iowa Caucus, which is a lot better than a lot of people though he would do.
And Donald Trump was second among Republicans (in a virtual three-way-tie among the top three candidates). He is not happy. Apparently someone also nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize? That strikes me as very odd.
This might be a silly question, but do you check the box that will keep you logged on? If not, maybe you should. If you're worried about staying logged on after you're done, you could log on in a private window.

Inside the US, you could also write your congresspeople, or even contact the White House itself.

For U.S. individuals:
As required by your laws, the EPA is calling for public comment on the planned rollback of environmental regulations.
https://www.epa.gov/laws-regulations/regulatory-reform
I've heard the gov't is required to read and respond to public comments.
I care because even though I've got no say in this as it isn't my government, it's a large country with a lot more global environmental impact than mine.
