so the government tax refund money came today. now I can pay my bills and not be completely broke

Our refund money went into buying something that we've kind of needed for a while but had been putting off. It's always nice to get that refund.

Why does the government ask for your money and then gives it back?

Because it's taking your money some other way, and by refunding you with something, you stay happy, and then you get to pay the government off in other ways. It's all really just a conspiracy.

So basically it pays you $10 so you can pay it $200? Sounds like a good deal.

You have taxes taken out of your paycheck throughout the year based on what you earn and based on an estimate of your tax-deductible items (donations, some expenses, etc.). Then, when tax season comes around, you calculate how much of a tax deduction you really have, and for a lot of people it's more than the estimate, so the government refunds the difference.

I actually have too little income to be taxed. plus I'm a student so there's more things I get deducted for. so I do a little bit of paperwork and I get $300

Unfortunately, there were no stipends in my line of study.

I did get my first full full-time paycheck today, though. The last one had some remnants of when I worked part-time as an intern. I'm going to go celebrate tonight.

Today I helped my cousin's wife with a couple of math problems, including this one:

I did this over Facebook.

today i took an exam, failing which would cause me to spend a plus semester at the university after next year. I don't know the result yet..

Today I had my last exam. It was the oral exam and it was physics. I got 4 (on a scale of 1 through 6 where 6 is top grade).

Today I took a techincal drawing exam. I got 7.5 out of 10, and all because the exam only had 4 questions and in the last one I did everything right except for my compass being a tiny bit to the left of the crossing of some lines...

Tests with only a few questions kind of bug me, because each question is worth a lot of points and one tiny mistake can really cost you.
