SHOUT OUT TO ALL PEOPLE ON RPs
YOU ARE KILLING THEM!
I swear, I think I'm the only person who cares for the wellbeing of our precious RPs. Where else can ASDFers live a second life in a different world? I plea to everyone, but mainly the RPers, to sit down at your computers, and revive the RPs. I log on and look at the RPs, and rarely find a change. Please, donate some time, maybe even just five minutes, to save our already minuscule amount of RPs.

Made this argument dozens of times.... It never helps...

I know, the RPs are dying. When you and Bunchie came, there was a burst of life, but then they returned to their previous state. You people claim you are RPers, yet you do not RP!

I don't like RPs, I prefer programming, making music or playing FPSs

Come on now, play fair, RPers have the same rights as any other ASDFer. If you don't like them, you don't have to put people who do down within this thread that was made to have a go at the RPers who were slacking off.

This thread is to tell people how Awful they are for not playing make belief with you, when they couldn't possibly have work to do with their jobs or school work that needs to be urgently done for them to continue to live comfortably?

or maybe because the rp's get out of hand, too fast? cliche, or just plain boring. I have a busy life and can't keep up with you kids who can post 25 times a day on the zombie one, I not interrested in any but the darkzones, but I skim through to check for things I need to as a mod.

I don't like your RPing styles. Like lunar said, you post too fast, you don't give enough time to let others post, just because they aren't on for a day, and you advance the stories too far. I'd prefer to stick to actual RP sites.

I agree with flying sheep tho I do my best to keep up as much as possible...

that said I enjoy well written posts in rps, so quick responses don't seem satisfying to me.

sadly I can't write well enough to make a truly epic post, but at least I can make a good rp when I have the time to piece the ideas together

On the note of moving RPs too quickly, making a massive wall of text does that. It makes it harder to understand what is happening within the RP if you make a massive wall, and it becomes even harder if there is practically no punctuation. Yes, I'm looking at you right now Bunchie.

and yeah I know but the wall of text works if it only affects you and not the other rpers and it can lead to well written stuff ... unlike small posts that simply reply without any progression of action or detail. ಠ_ಠ

However, if you take quality over quantity, you can advance just as effectively. Also, using smaller chunks of text means you are not the sole person influencing the direction of the RP, others get a chance to give it direction as well. Remember that when you are on an RP, you aren't alone, so consider others.

I prefer well written walls to senseless discussions, simple 'i went here' and an even bigger, less efficient wall of useless stuff like avatars and blank space. Don't put a wall up with terrible terrible punctuation or none at all and don't use bad wording. Of all the people I've read Aqua/Dudeman have the best stuff imo because he doesn't use conventional punctuation instead he uses ...'s probably for one reason or another but I read it as a break, a pause. It's far easier than remembering the context of a comma or period or anything it's just a pause. Just type how it sounds in your head, and make it possible for us to understand. But I HATE it when there are 35 new 1 sentence posts. It's far far far harder for me to get through because I go "sigh" then "crap..." because sometimes it's a half of a page of bleh. That sometimes crosses pages, and I have to skim through all of it and try to keep up. In longer, but not massive, posts I get a taste of an actual writing style and feel, I get the ability to read something substantial and see pages used efficiently used. I see all that clutter from the avatars and stuff and it just really gives me a headache, So I'll be sticking with dark zones for now until another great RP rolls along, and stays managalby active.

I do my best not to advance RPs too quickly, and that leads to short posts. BJ and I are really the only regular RPers right now, so we can't exactly avoid going through the RP without waiting for you guys.

that said consistent posting also helps

its a balance of 50/50

writing a good post is when the balance is perfect and rp zen is acheived

when rp zen is achieved, not only the writer but the other rpers reading the post enjoy the post

making a post that is enjoyable to read is the heart and sole of rping.
