The Lost World

Well, I think I'm going to base this off of something like Metroid (ever played that game?). So it'll be kinda si-fi, maybe a little like Dead Space too. It should be fun if people will participate. *It will start out in space, but will eventually head towards a some kind of "empty" planet (hint, hint).*

Rules?
1. Don't be to random with the storyline.
2. Speak in 3rd person, unless your character is talking to another character.
*3. If you're going to make some sort of comment please use ()'s.*

Got it? I'll start.

The Lost World

A ginormous starcraft was drifting through space. It's engines had malfunctioned, the power was gone, and now it was left at the threat of being attacked by space pirates. All his crew had disappeared, he had no idea how. But they were gone that's all that matters. "How does a crew that size disappear, a crew of 30.." he thought. If the ship was attacked, only one person was left to actually defend it, Admiral Justin. He had no idea how he would defend a ship of this magnitude.

...Continue the story...

*ASTERISKS ARE AN EDIT*

(Relax. You just started the story earlier today. I'll pitch in, at least a little bit, either later today or tomorrow, when I have time.)
*(Seems to me that your story changed. No matter. My addition to the story is below.)*

At least, Justin would have been the only one to defend the ship, if it hadn't been for a stowaway in the cargo hold. Known only as Mack, he had been an orphan for most of his life. Now at 16, he had been lured away by the prospect of adventure. It had been simple enough to sneak onto the ship. With a ship of this size and a crew of only 30, he just had to wait until the ship had been docked and for the automated systems to go through standard maintenance. Mack had spent a lot of time on the docks, and had picked up a few things, so he knew that parts of the cargo hold were "blind spots" for the life sign scanners. Now that everyone had seemed to disappear, he emerged from his hiding place, curious and a bit worried about what had happened to the crew.

(You seem to be good with details, while I am not.)

As Mack was emerging from his hiding place, amidst all his confusion, he heard a sound. A violent piercing kind of screech. Now he was scared, along with confused and worried. Justin heard the noise too, but he was all the way in the control room of the ship. 'What could produce such a loud screech?' they both wondered. Due to Mack's lust for adventure he decided to go investigate. Justin, having been living comfortably on spaceships for most of his life, decided to stay in the control room and secure the perimeter.

(Uh oh... Looks like you're venturing into character control territory. You are the "master" of this RP, but it's kind of standard practice to let other people control their own characters. Whatever you want to do, though, I'll roll with it.)

"I'm not scared," Mack tried to convince himself as he went to find the source of the sound. Of course he was scared. As far as he knew, he was the only one on this ship, and whoever (or whatever) had caused everyone else to vanish might just be who (or what) had made such a horrible noise. He tried to keep near the walls, behind the corners, to avoid detection, and as he neared where he thought the sound had come from, there was another screech. He was definitely close. It was loud before, but this time it felt like his eardrums were about to burst. He turned his head slightly around the corner.

A space pirate. Of course it was a space pirate. Those things were used to give little children nightmares, but it seemed like the horrifying descriptions used to make the unruly behave were not far from the truth. It had some sort of device. Mack didn't know what it was, but if a space pirate had it, it could only mean trouble. His mind was shouting at him to run, but he knew better. The space pirate had probably caused the crew to disappear, maybe even with that device. It wouldn't be expecting company. He snuck away just as he had snuck there.

The control room. Of course. If anyone hadn't vanished, they would probably be there, controlling the ship. As soon as Mack thought that he was well out of the hearing range of the space pirate, he bolted and turned into a room. It appeared to be a female crew member's quarters, but Mack had little time to notice more than that. He found the computer panel and used it to call to the control room.

"Hello? My name is Mack. I'm a stowaway - sorry about that. But everyone else is gone, and we've got an intruder, other than me, on board. A space pirate. Is anyone there?!?"

(So sorry about trying to control your character by the way, do as you please.)

Justin had heard Mack, but he didn't know how he heard him, because he thought all the power on the ship was gone. Justin walked over to the control panel for the power generators onboard the ship. He noticed a flashing light, under it read 'emergency power generators on.' Now he understood how he heard Mack. Justin was worried though, he didn't know whether the space pirate spoke english or not.

Although Justin was unsure, he found the computer panel for the intercom and decided to respond to Mack. "Hello Mack, this is Admiral Justin. I am slightly mad about you being a stowaway, but we've got bigger problems than that now. I am in the control room of the ship. Please come and find me. Good luck." he said. Justin gulped. 'Space pirates, why did it have to be space pirates.' he thought. He had been taught about space pirates his whole life, how to not fear them, their weaknesses, etc., but the stories he had heard were just plain horrible. Even though he had never faced one before, he feared them greatly.

(Ah... Role playing... I like that... Mind if I pitch in?)

Daniel, one of the ships engineers, found himself in the mess hall. He instantly noticed that the power was gone due to the glowing red of the emergency lights. Actually it was his job to keep the energy up and running but he was just about to do a break and pour himself some of the instant-powder coffee he always drank when he was slightly annoyed by how unrewarding his work is.
Due to the sudden stop of the engine he fall head first into the nearest wall and was still felling dizzy because of that.
"Why does this always has to happen to me..." he thought and noticed that there was no sign of anyone anywhere. "Huh, that's strange... That place is always swarming with people... Somethings not right..." As soon as he finished the thought he heard footsteps coming towards his position and he decided to look who it was.

"Hey!" he yelled and regretted it immediately when he saw an armed 'space pirate' standing in front of him.
"Uhm... Guess you are no friend of mine then?" he said and made a few steps backwards. He knew the stories about space pirates and had encountered one or two in his life. And he was scared of 'em. Very.
The pirate walked towards Daniel and kicked him to the ground and said something he couldn't understand. And again, Daniel hit the wall head-on.

Just when he thought i was the end of his life he noticed a wrench next to him... an old school one, that isn't really used anymore, and hit the pirate with it.
The pirate was unconscious, but for how long ? Daniel didn't want to find that out and ran for it. Heading for the engine room to see if he can fix that thing. Then suddenly the power kicked back in. "The power... Great! I wonder who turned it back on... The control room is on my way... Maybe I should swing by then."

(Oops... I somehow missed that the power was off. Maybe my character used the intercom in a panic? Either way, I'm glad it worked. :) )

Mack made his way quickly, but carefully, toward the control room, peering around corners, trying to make sure that he wasn't seen. Did space pirates need to see?

Quickly seeing where this train of thought was leading him, Mack shook his head and tried to focus on what he was doing. Control room first. Worries later.

Sha'fa woke on the floor with a huge headache, he would get that frakin engineer. Sha'fa started to pick himself up and noticed that he fell on his beam rifle which broke it. Sha'fa took out the battery magazine, and put it with his two emp grenades. all he had left was his bolt pistol and combat knife. Sha'fa noticed that the power was back on and figured someone else from the boarding party got it back on, but why was this engineer still on the ship? Sha'fa figured that he could get the information out of him later when he was being tortured.

Daniel continued heading towards the control room, but he somehow felt like he was being followed.

After a few minutes he reached the control room. He wanted to open the door, but it was locked. He knew that these doors don't let sonic waves pass so the commander doesn't have to hear the sound of the engine, so knocking was no option. He turned around and walked away, now heading for the engine room.
To see if he can fix it and to use the emergency computer panel for communication there.

"I have to avoid running into the space pirates... But how... The Vents! That's it! The cooling system for the engine should be off anyways... So I should be perfectly safe in there... for now." He kicked in one of the covers of the ventilation shaft and climbed in, crawling towards the engine room.

(If you're going to add another character please try to add a little background information in there...sorry! Forget what I just said, I thought Daniel was a new character...I forgot that you added him earlier, sorry my memory is horrible. I'm really just telling everyone in general now that if they add a new character to add background info.)

(Sorry I haven't been on in a while, i'll add just a bit to the story today though, just to get it going again.)

Admiral Justin was pacing in the control room. He didn't know whether Mack or the space pirate would make it to the control room first. Since the emergency power was on and because he was afraid of what might happen in the future, he decided to try and call in some allies.

Something that Justin did not realize though, was that he was being watched. Another space pirate onboard the ship by the name of Quagar had found his way into the security room, he was meant to be in there as it was his duty in the taking of the ship, and he was currently watching Justin. Quagar was planning; waiting for the right moment to attack. He thought he might need his space pirate brethren before he attacked though.

sha'fa tried to follow the engineer but became lost. he thought that the engineer had went towards the bridge but now he was mostly moving forward on the ship aimlessly. sha'fa called on the radio to find where the bridge was and started heading in that direction.

Admiral Justin and the others weren't the only ones to defend the ship, Buddster, had been on the ship the entire time, in cargo hold 2, but was hiding from that 'thing' that took John and the others. It just came out of nowhere, when he heard the voice on the intercom, he knew that Justin and the others might still be alive, so he focused on finding a weapon or something to defend himself with. "Fine, I'll do it." He took a weak caliber weapon from the storage boxes and headed up the stairs to the captain's quarters, or where ever Justin may be. He saw no sign of the creature, but still didn't want to take the chance it was still there, with them. He saw that the emergency power was on, and wait. Was that Justin?! He saw him in his room, pacing about like he normally does, he wanted to run up there and tell Justin the thing that was lurking in the shadows of the ship, but saw that someone else was in the room, someone very dangerous. He crept along the stair way leading up to the captain's quarters, if that was it, and tried to open the door. Justin didn't seem to notice, Buddster saw the person, he was on the ceiling. Buddster went into panic mode, until he realized he had his ID, he was the co-captain. He slid his ID and the door slid open, apparently not arising any suspicion to Justin, he was pacing like he normally does. The pirate was hanging on to the light that lit up the room, it was now or never. He aimed the pistol at the two iron bars that held the Lamp in place, they were bustable with the gun he had, so he shot one. The pirate came crashing down, and Justin was startled. The space pirate aimed his gun at Justin and the other at Buddster. "Your move." The pirate said. They were in a Mexican Standoff.

(if you wanted to do something else with Quagar, tell me, I can make a new beginning story for my character)

(I'm going to make another char if that's alright, hope this wasn't TOO long.)

*15 minutes earlier...*

Jacob was with John and the others and, like Buddster, he escaped. Jacob saw Budd run to cargo hold 2, he ran to the armory. Inside, he saw loads of beam rifles, bolt pistols, scatter blasters, and, his personal favorite, Zepherian Blade. He also grabbed some armor, he didn't want to end up like John and the others. He got out of the secured room, he had to crawl under the debris because the creature came by a little while ago, he scared it off, but it took the door off it's hinges. He crawled under, still looking for the monster that killed everyone. He was in the center of the ship, where the Control Room was. He looked up, where it was, and saw Justin in there, pacing as usual. He knew he couldn't get his attention without proper entrance. The room was sealed off. He needed Buddster, he had the other ID card that could open it up. Jacob figured that the intercoms wouldn't work, he had never been in this situation before. He figured that only the more inportant stuff, control panels, lights, etc. would be on. He tried the food court, in the event of Budd being there to find someone, he would be too. The court was empty, except for the space grub they chowed on. He heard rustling, he held his beam rifle up. Just as another crew member, or space pirate came into view, something grabbed him from behind. It threw Jacob onto the HUGE window that was in the main hall. He was propped face first against it. The thing that threw Jacob jumped up behind him, it started growling. He knew it was the thing that killed the rest of the group. He turned himself over, only to meet a sharp claw to his face. Three blasts from a bolt pistol echoed in the distance, Jacob looked over. The thing moved to the thing that shot at him. He ran as fast as he could to the person, maybe a crew member. The thing grabbed the person and stuck his claw through his chest, he threw the person away. Just as Jacob was leaving, the thing pinned him again. He grabbed his grenades and stuck one to the monsters face, he slipped out of his grasp and pushed the monster close to the glass. Jacob ran as far as he could, he hoped the backup doors were still online. The grenade blew, breaking the glass barrier. Jacob was sucked to the window, or where it used to be. He tried to grab something, hoping for a last minute save. "SHIIITTT!" Jacob screamed just as he was about to hit outer space, which the monster already had, he took a gulp of air, and waited. The steel backup door, which was used for battle, closed. Jacob hit the metal door and fell to the ground, taking in his success

(riley a little background? And, not saying you have to, but try to be more descriptive.)

Jacob got up, seeing that the person that was stabbed was godzillaking71. he ran over to him, then hearing the sounds of a bolt pistol. He looked over, but something else caught his attention. he looked in the control room, and saw Budd creeping up the stairs. He needed to save Riley, he couldn't worry about Budd right now. he ran to the space pirate, Zepherian blade in one hand, a bolt pistol in the other. Just as he ran up to the pirate, another one of those monsters grabbed him and pulled him up. Jacob watched it. It stabbed it's claw in his leg, then moving to his head. just before the claw met his head, jacob shot it with one of his most powerful snipers the armory had. The monster fell, when it hit the ground, it was lifeless. The space pirate fell too, but used one of his gadgets to prevent his death of falling. He held his pistol up to Jacob. jacob gave the pirate 'the look' and he dropped his weapon. Jacob pointed his rifle at him, and escorted him to the men's quarters, where Riley was. "Take him, make sure he doesn't move." jacob said after handing Riley a scatter blaster. he walked over to where godzillaking was, and carried him back. His wound wasn't as serious as jacob saw, it barely did any damage to his internals, which was lucky. But he would still need emergency care.

"Alright, you're the second mechanic, right?" Riley nodded. Jaocb nodded. He used the Fireman's Carry and got him into the Emergency Care center. He set him down on one of the beds, looking around. There were only 2 lights there, which would be okay, if he didn't have to treat someone. Jacob took 3 years in medical school, so he knew partially what he was doing. He grabbed one of the drills. He put it up to Riley's stomach, then said "This may hurt a little." Riley smiled, then shook his head. Jacob cut the stomach open, examining the wound, it wasn't serious at all, except the fact that there was noxious acid in it. They had poisonous tails. Just as he got the Peroxide, Riley pulled Budd's pistol and shot a creature behind him. Jacob spilled the acid on Riley. He screamed in pain. Jacob used a small vacuum and got most of the peroxide out of there, it was a VERY unhealthy amount, and it could lead to death. Let's just hope it doesn't. He grabbed the stitcher and pulled Riley's stomach back, and stitched it up in a painless way. Riley got off the bed, going over to the hallway, something caught his eyes as he walked past the windows, there was a planet. "JACOB!!" Jacob busted through the doors, seeing what the matter was. He saw the planet too. "We have to contact Justin and the others. I saw Budd go up the stairs, we can go to the control room. They ran for it, Riley grabbing his stomach. They ran up the stairs, looking through the window. There was a space pirate holding his pistols up to Justin and Budd. Riley ran up also. Then, something grabbed Riley from behind and threw him down the stairs, it was a regular space pirate. Jacob held his gun up to his back, then felt a knife being held against his back. They were in a pickle
