Haiku Story

[Anonymously Famous]

The purpose of this game:
Write a story in haiku.
I think it will be fun.

Count the syllables.
First five, then seven, then five.
That is a haiku.

One haiku per post.
This post is the exception,
To explain the rules.

Big words have no place
When you want to do haikus.
Be brief in your posts.

I'll start the story
With the next haiku I write,
Then someone add on.

In a kingdom fair,
Once long ago, far from here,
A baby was born.

It was the king's son,
all small and wrapped in a ball,
he will be the king!

A good fairy came,
Godmother of the baby,
To leave a blessing.

The boy would now on,
be protected by magic,
for all of his life.

Of course that now meant
That people with ill intent
Would try to kill him.

This wonderous land,
Was held captive by a goat,
Who loved to ram things.

The goat rammed away,
One step closer to the prince.
He was a baaaaad boy.

The King and the Queen,
Afraid for the son they loved,
To arms they did go.

The son they did leave
With a wizard to guide him
In his infancy.

The wizard took the boy,
Under his wing he did teach,
To live without fear.

The boy did grow strong,
Courageous and without fear,
But so did the goat.

The goat then gathered,
The help of an evil friend.
He who has no name

He does have a name.
He's told no one what it is
Because it's silly.

But nevertheless,
The friend was truly evil,
He had a pink hat.

The pink hatted friend,
Together with the bad goat,
Made plans to attack.

They spun up a spell
To change the prince into grass,
On which they would feed.

Fortunately, though,
The wizard protected him
With a magic shield.

Discouraged and down,
The goat admitted defeat.
And ran away sad.

The parents returned
From a battle far away.
They reigned a long time.

The boy grew older,
He became strong but gentle,
And trained for kingship.
