- Pronouns: Well it shouldn't really be that complicated if you go over my post history but then... why are you searching through my post history? Don't you think you are over complicating something as simple as just referring to me? Why are you like this? Is it just out of boredom? Does your religion require it? You could just assume them and skip all this paragraph, don't worry an eldritch horror won't appear out of nowhere to eat you (or me for that matter) if you get this wrong, the worst that can happen is I ignore you and even in that case you can try again! There shouldn't be that many options anyway so if you get it wrong the first time try again and again. Bottom line is: you just lost a bunch of time reading this paragraph for something as trivial as figuring out how to refer to me when you could just have deduced it which should make you think your life choices so far.

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
Not A LOT but more than most people, being that I was a really active member in my church a few years ago. I USED to be quite the devout follower until I thought for a spell about what is important to me. I've read the Bible a few times before and after, and not much has changed in my mind, in respect to the messages. But when it states clearly, and if I find or remember the passages I'll post them, that if man has sex with man he is damned to hell, or that it's right to have more than one wife... that bothers me. No those aren't made up examples, they are, in fact, very clearly stated.

So why it's bothers you? Are you thinking on having sex with a man? And you know that he just have to go with a priest and ask for God forgiveness something that the priest cannot deny?

It bothers me because it causes people to act against the gays, and that's bigotry, and I abhor bigotry.vraiment wrote:So why it's bothers you? Are you thinking on having sex with a man? Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
from "bigotry" I just understand "and I"... anyway is wrong that people act against gays, there is a famous phrase that says "The fight is against the ideas not against people". If people act against gays is an error of people not religion, Catholic Church says that gays must be treated like any human, 'cause they are just like any human, just they can't do homosexuals acts. That people understand it different is not fault of the Pope or the Bible...

i don't care if you "buy" it or not, and i don't think this is what is this discussion is about, nobody is trying to convince anyone.lunar_furor wrote:I just have a REALLY hard time buying it.
I'm just trying to point out the inaccuracies in your arguments, and that in my view it's not about believing supernatural things.. it's important to see that being religious doesn't mean to deny any physical or biological fact (nor the evolution)..
that's sad, and it's another reason why being christian or believing in a god doesn't mean you actually believe/follow all the words of a book. It's almost like if you'd judge the entire Muslim religion because there are radicals and terrorists among them who obviously take it too far.lunar_furor wrote:But when it states clearly, and if I find or remember the passages I'll post them, that if man has sex with man he is damned to hell, or that it's right to have more than one wife... that bothers me. ... Again, I didn't say ALL. However it is still a large majority. I can't stand anything that even slightly promotes punishing someone just because of something they do, if it doesn't harm anyone. I don't care if it's a war on the idea.
So they can like other people of the same sex, but not act on it. That's like saying you can be a pilot but not fly. There is no threat of any kind posed by the homosexuals, the only reason people, that I can tell, dislike the gays and lesbians is because their ideals don't match others. I have yet to see one reason why the homosexual's life style should be limited, or restricted in anyway. 'It's unnatural' well so is spam but we still have that.

Look, Vrai, you should kiss a guy... You'll then realise that it feels the same... (Not that I've done either...) I personally wouldn't get into the whole sodomy thing, but If men like men that's fine... And I'm sure your the kind of person who wouldn't look away if you saw two women bumping uglies.

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
I don't know if this is rellevant, but may I remind you that there are many denominations of Christianity, including Catholocism and Baptism and such... It's just how people interprit the bioble differently. Catholics, for instance, take alot of the accounts in the bible as stories meant to be symbolism and ideals to follow, while Episcipallions see almost all events as true to life events in the history of the universe.
Honestly though, it's much like ASDF. It gives people hope and something to admire and find inspiration with. Some people just take it too far.

Today everything is relative, is about "how I feel" or "how I think" the things, so what's the problem of my point of view? I'm not killing them, I'm just saying that they're sick and need a psicologist, same as some other people enter the forum and says "I see like you all are sick", so what's the problem?CX gamer wrote:They still see it as an illness...

It's offensive and wrong... If I said I hate wetbacks because they are sick, you wouldn't like it would you?

I don't say wetbacks, I say gays, and I didn't say that I hate them. So Nietzsche hated Christianity and everyone* loves him.
