Usually the ear is both the inner and outer ear. But the way you are putting it, if I lose my legs, I'll die from not walking, or if I lose my nose, I'll die from not smelling something. That isn't the case. If you lose your eyes, you will probably die, just for not having eyes.

No, you don't understand. A wheelchair doesn't make you walk. You would die for not walking, not because not being able to move casued something bad. SImply because you can't walk, you would die.
