Minecraft is an awful game. It's awful and terrible, and it's not even an original idea, nor is it better than the other version I've seen. Not only that, but it's graphics are horrible and terrible, which I've been informed it was on purpose to create some kind of 'feel' to it, but it's so bad it makes it generally hard to play. Everyone is playing it and everyone is like "Oooh this game is awesome" and everyone is obsessing over it and it's sooooooo annoying because it's not even that good. And the monsters are just rediculous. They couldn't come up with ONE original idea, could they? Instead, they just bring in zombies, coz there aren'y twenty million games with zombies in them.

Not flaming, just rigourously expressing my opinion. I'll test your server, but my craptop has a problem with servers and my other comp just doesn't like minecraft so I'm not sure I'll be able to.

AKA flaming! This pissed me off to no end, if people are liking something don't tell them they are wrong, they don't claim it's original, ON THEIR SITE they state the game they took the idea from. Don't ever EVER try to preach to me on a game based on graphics, I'll slap you for it. Zombies are in games JUST LIKE COWS just because they are there don't mean they are trying to be original OR MAKE A ZOMBIE GAME it's an enemy get over it. This is the FREE VERSION SO THERE ARE NO ENEMIES ANYWAY, THIS IS JUST A SIMPLE BUILDING SERVER! We are obsessing and calling it awesome because we like it, and good is a subjective term, you can't call a game bad just because you don't like it, and if you do you better say it's of opinion. I know we are all guilty of this but I don't go into a room filled with people that like Barbie Horse Adventure and tell them that they are mistaken in thinking that the game is enjoyable. The idea is original, because the game it's based on was competitive, and futuristic, and did not include ANY npc's. He took TF2 and made it into Oblivion, so there you go flexibility. You don't like it fine, but this ain't the place to tell it so if you're done please stop. Also just a curiosity, why are you gonna test a game you hate?

FOR THOSE WHO AREN'T GONNA CRY ABOUT IT-
The first link is working on my laptop, if it works for someone else post it up for me, if not post it up for me, I can't fix what I don't know isn't broken.
I built a sky platform and arrow to guide you back home if you get lost, it's happened to me. I built a 'base?' to give an idea or w/e if you don't know what you wanna do. I carved out a cave and built the building directly into that then added the upstairs, then the deck below. When you land on my logo after spawning the A shall be north, if you go NE of the spawn there is a ring of bricks, there's a cave in there to dig out. Keep going and there's another ring to another cave. If you go East of the spawn, all the way to the end of the world, to a tree there is a mound of dirt, I built a hidden stair case that doesn't have to be dug to that goes to a huge underground cave that accidently flooded but a lot of it is above water and the water bits could be molded to a kick ass underwater dungeon if anyone wants to. There are other places around the map that I don't exactly remember. Directly behind the spawn is a series of trees I made them all connect and its like a huge tree platform. If we can keep this organized I'd like to not level the whole map and build random crap and instead take this as an exercise in engineering and building. Carve your buildings out of the mountains, idk what they look like color wise or anything except it'd be cool if someone could build a small town in the trees out of tree bits just an idea. I'd like to see a server for once build a world, instead of ambiguous buildings and stuff. In the buildings can be what ever you want, and they don't have to stay COMPLETELY within the cave nor do they have to COMPLETELY fit the cave, for instance my building was only half in the cave, the bottom floors were. I'd like this to turn into something awesome, not just random, random is a part of it, but awesome also needs to be a part. Themed stuff would be nice but I can't and won't censor anyone, that's just not me... unless I absolutely have to. If you'd like me to partition off a certain part of the world for random building I can do this, I'd be willing to make a large (as I'm gonna call it) WTF? zone. If this would be wanted I'd like to know about how big, what part of the map, and how deep, It would be floored by unbreakable bricks, and walled to keep out water but not all the way up I'm too lazy someone else can do something like that if they want, but in this space anything goes. Outside that I'd strongly suggest helping me/us sculpt this randomly generated space to something to more or less explore for other people. Can we do this myes? I neeeed feed back peoples!

Note: If this isn't something that people (3 or so) are wanting to do I'll just say screw it and declare pure free build, but I'd like to try this experiment first.

If this doesn't work then I'm completely lost. That'll probably give you a single player map with 'you cannot connect via this address anymore' but It's all I got... I noticed though that all the multiplayer servers seem down on minecraft, and I can't connect to any of the ones that are there, so it may just be a minecraft thing.

Now I just got a "You can't connect to the server via this url any more!" message at the top and the game loaded a random map in single player.

and google where it goes, but he doesn't say what file it goes in, he doesn't say if I'm just supposed to toss that in, he doesn't even say where he got this information which would be nice, I know the servers are down but i'd much rather wait for the site to comeback up than dig for hours on the internet for a maybe possible solution for public servers. I'm too tired I'm going to bed, the two links (first post, and the one on this page) should work without all this work, I'll leave the server up in hopes but bleh goodnight everyone.

That's being rather hippocritical then. I wasn't saying they're all wrong for liking it, I was just saying that I don't like the game and I explained why. If I'm not allowed to express an opinion about why I don't like it, then none of you are allowed to express your opinion about why you do like it. I didn't tell you that you're all wrong for liking Minecraft, if you all like it, great. But if you want to flame on me because you think I'm flaming, than you're no better than you think of me.

And I'm willing to test your thing because you asked, and to be honest, I haven't really played online with it much.

You just went on stating how you're sick of everyone's obsession with it like those who do like it are blind, you never ONCE said that it was your opinion, or what you thought you stated it like fact. And again, I will repeat. I never said that I thought you were all stupid for playing the game. I said I find it annoying that everyone obsesses over it. And I believe that even if this thread is for people to talk about how awesome it is, I should still have a right to state an opinion. Yes, I did word it horribly wrong, and I apologise, but in my opinion, to use your example, I should be allowed to walk into a star trek convention and tell them I don't like it and I think it sucks. And guaranteed, if I went and made a Minecraft sucks thread or something like that, everyone would rage on me like I'm a deranged lunatic, so I fail to see how this is any different.

If you make that thread and say it's for people who hate minecraft I'd personally stay out, anyone who doesn't is gonna get what's coming to them, they deserve it at that point.
