I recently watched Dead Poets Society - man is that a great movie. One of the best I've ever seen, partly due to the fact that the parents are the antagonists.
I've also seen Raising Arizona last night, it was terrible except for the part where the bunny went up to the grenade and then it blew up. :)

QFT! Robin Williams can be so underrated at times. I LOVED him in that!

The Road

Post by Joe » Sat Oct 23, 2010 12:21 am

Hey ASDF, I just saw the movie "The Road" today, and I found it disturbing yet enlightening and was just wondering if anyone else here has seen it. If you have I would like it if your own insights were shared.

There's a Milk Bar in NYC that is themed after A Clockwork Orange. Or at least there used to be. A good flick - Stanley Kubrick is talented like that.

Speaking of Kubrick, Full Metal Jacket anyone? "WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION, NUMBNUTS?!"

so I just finished watching Labyrinth.

pretty good... it was a little vague, if you ask me, but I like the Goblin world and whatnot; if I could describe it with one word it'd be 'weird' for sure. words are too slow.

I bet you can't guess who my favorite actor was

That's so funny! I actually pulled that DVD off my shelf last weekend and wondered if you had ever seen it given the Bowieness involved. The storyline and the writing was a little odd, but you have to admit the puppeteering was frickin' sweet and the soundtrack is kickass.

You're being sarcastic, right? He's pretty good in that movie. It's the first (and only) movie I've seen him in...

I agree... the only negative thing I'd have to say about it is that Jareth may have been wearing his pants just a little bit too tight...

I was being sarcastic. and yeah, same, it's the only movie I've seen him in unless Atlantis Squarepantis counts

the first one. I can't really see the pictures on this screen but it was an '86 movie.

Oh, please...when was Bowie NOT wearing pants that tight in the 1980s?
