Re: Gamma's art
OMGZ GOOD NEWS PEOPLEZ! I was able to restore my files to a hard drive, dubbed Anton. I will work from my original hard drive, but access my files on Anton by sticking it into a reader and plugging it in. This will render my files nearly invulnerable! I'm so happy! Smiley spam time!

Re: Gamma's art
Yeah, the laptop I am on is like that. It hadn't been used in at least a year, and it keeps wanting to update. The stupid thing tries to download all the missed updates in one go, but they don't install properly and it tries again next time you turn the computer on, after uninstalling the updates of course... So if you reverted your computer, it would act like the laptop I am on

Re: Gamma's art
Ouch. Doesn't sound pleasant. But, if you know how to do it, you can make the computer update SOME at a time. So, by doing it chunk by chunk, it should fix the problem...hopefully.

Re: Gamma's art
Nah, that's not what I mean. It kept nagging me to install IE8, so that was annoying. Then it took 7 and a half hours out of my day to fail at installing SP3. -_-'
So yeah. That's it.

Re: Gamma's art
Have you tried downloading it MANUALLY (off the site) THEN installing the updates/program(IE8)?

Re: Gamma's art
Well, I finally got them to work. I decided to go with IE8 anyway, and all my updates finished. I reinstalled my graphics, sound, and network drivers, so now I'm ASDFing from my own computer. All I have to do next is reinstall all my programs.

Why would you choose internet explorer over anything?

Re: Gamma's art
They'rae all different. IE is good as it is simple and useful. Mozilla is good as you can customise the look of it to look better but I haven't noticed any difference in performance.

Re: Gamma's art
Internet explorer has no advantages except that it comes installed when you buy the computer. It really is awful.

Re: Gamma's art
Two things.
1) Mozilla allows you to choose what updates you actually want to use, not forcing them down your throat.
2) Why are we using Gamma's art thread to debate what browser is better?
