I'd like to request a new board

There are several of us who are programmers, to one degree or another. Wouldn't it be nice to have a programming board where we could post bits of code, or questions about programming, etc.?

You can remove your own post through the "edit" button. Just click the check box that says "Once deleted the post cannot be recovered."

anyways, i deleted the doubleposty thingy in question.

ON: yeah, it would be nice, but looking at the current activity rates [imagine nifty colorful shiny 4D chart thingers here], i think it can wait..
i mean, one can always post a programming related question in the Help Thread, but feel free to start a programming thread and i can sticky it for the time being, if necessary.

We could do a poll

as a survey, to know how many people would actually use a programming board. i do think we're too few nowadays, but i'm not against the idea.

Huh. I didn't realize that you couldn't delete a post after someone has posted. I'll have to remember that.

You do have a point about the number of members. If I have something specific to post about programming, I'll do it here in the general board, then, for now.

It could. In fact, it does. Pokemon is a video game, and video games are programs.

I could go off about the scripts that people have written about Pokemon, but I won't.

That would be nice. Then I would have some motivation to start working on C++. I could never do C++ because the title would always remind me of pacman, then I can't concentrate.

C++ is a pretty solid language. It can get pretty tricky sometimes, though.

By the way, the script that I was talking about? It mimics Pokemon trading over the Internet. And since you can set the target IP address for global trading... You can get the biggest, baddest Pokemon around. And if you're careful about it, all of its stats will be within the legal limit, so there will be no hint of cheating. I've never used this script, but I have looked at it out of curiosity. It's written in Python, and since I was actively learning Python at the time, it was kind of cool.
