The Land of the Children

The boat you were rescued on has sunk on the shore of an island. You are stranded on an island as a child with other children, but you do not know anyone. You are no younger than 3 and no older than 14. There are no parents around and the only thing you all carry with you is a back pack full of snack food, and a roll of tape. Your mission is to get off of the island with everyone aboard. There is one person with a box of matches and another with a ball of string and a small bag of nails. The oldest carries a small pocket knife with a dull blade. You must either build a boat, or send smoke signals to arriving planes and boats to survive. You must tell us:

José felt scared. He didn't quite understand where he was or who he was with. Or why. He looked around at the unfamiliar scenery, the unfamiliar faces, the unfamiliar everything, and then it happened. He couldn't help it, really. His lips began to quiver, tears began to well up under his eyes, and he began to cry. Loudly. His screams filled the relative silence.

Bag: Cheese, and a small book about rats.

Rat crawls out of the boat last, almost a day later than the other kids. He was looking through the crash, but he barely found anything. All he took was a spool of rope that looked like fun. Rat carried it in his mouth, chewing through the fibers, wondering where he could find food. Some bread, to go with his cheese.

He sees some kids starting to look for stuff, he says
"Did anyone find any food? What are you looking for??"

At that, Rat reaches into his bag and starts eating a piece of yellow cheddar.

José slowly nibbled at the Poptart that Tom had given him, taking in his surroundings. He eventually found himself where the others were gathering drift wood. He looked down and saw something shiny.

"Cool..." he said, picking up the shiny thing.
