I'm guessing that you already had the exam. Did you still need some help?

Re: ASDF Help Thread. [Serious]
Quadratic equations are equations that are in the form 0 = ax^2 + bx +c.
The generic way to solve them can be sung to the tune of "Pop Goes the Weasel":
X equals negative b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus four a c, all over two a!
If it can easily be factored, you may find it easier to solve than plugging the numbers into the formula. One of the easiest ways are if it presents itself as the difference of squares (b is zero in this case). See the first page of the following link:
http://www.purplemath.com/modules/specfact.htm
Here's the way to do it for "nice" numbers:

As you can see from my signature, I have quotes. I have no way to find where Anonymously Famous said "is is is" because is is too short. I really want to source it. Is there any way to find it?

Re: ASDF Help Thread. [Serious]
tried googling, but since it appears in your signature, it's bloating the results..
And no results found for
or for
It makes matters worse that signatures are applied to all your posts, including ones that are older than the quote itself, so it's hard to find the first occurrence. Maybe if you temporarily removed it from your sig? But then we would have to wait for google to recrawl the forums I guess (no idea how long that takes).
Edit:
I guess it would be possible to write a program that gets all of AF's posts and searches through them, it would take a maximum of 394 web requests (that's how many pages of posts he has right now).
Edit2:
Coincidentally, page 394 is the page Severus Snape urges his students to turn to in their textbooks, in the famous scene of the famous movie.
And no results found for
Code: Select all
"is is is" -"Anonymously Famous wrote" site:forums.asdf.com
Code: Select all

a lame joke:
u break a window of a car before u realize someone's in it...He is about to shoot u before he realizes he hasn't rolled down the window yet
