Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Roland smiles at his old friend, "you know me to well dont you...." he stood and motioned for Grym to step back with him aways as to be out of ear shot....he motioned for Jacob to man the table for a second so as no one would interrupt Roland and Grym. "of course i know more Grym....but i cant tell the rest to the whole town....i dont need panic or any STUPID ideas being thrown together before we have good ones.....but what i know from my friend Jacob is this.....something is out there a being, female, and shes calling out to all the Wild Creatures....they are all some how connected i believe through the ever present magic that exists out there....and this being has found away to reach out to all of them using this shared magic....she may even be able to influence them....or even control them to an extent....maybe not all of them.....maybe some are like jacob and resisting.....those are what i dont know....and what we are really going to find out.....i was going to tell the other 8 in the morning before we left......but to have told the whole town.....there is an all powerful witch with the power to mind control all the creatures in the wilds and is calling them all to form her army....would not have been the best course of action.....you follow?"

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
(((OOC: Cylia is not currently calling out these creatures, I assume you are talking of the force that corrupted Cylia those days ago. In the case, feel free to do what you like with that character, though i SUGGEST giving her some powers allocated to Lunar (specifically Dark Side of the Moon) as that is what poisoned Cylia on the trip. The villain should NOT be cylia, she is not nearly that powerful, and even though she did start the call, i think best to consider her a pawn of a higher force.)))
Baled had caught wind of the discussion, he had been politely ignoring it, he wasn't a snoop. but he had also been thinking of Cylia and how upset she had been, he knew she had taken control over the wild things, but that had ended when she was knocked out by Larque, and she had not done it out of her will , she had been corrupted to corrupt... a tree of taking evil , lunar control... From these thoughts, and Baled's love for wisdom his brain, had, to say, absorbed the conversation. He needed to talk to Jacob.
Baled wasn't entirely comfortable, but he walked to Jacob, trying not to attract the attention of Roland or Grym. he came over to jacob. "I know you feel the call. I want you to know that it was my friend Cylia who started that call, but not by her own choice" he whispered, "there is a force stronger than her involved, and If you are to locate that source in your mind," Baled began, being clearly able to see the creature's pain on his face prior, "than I will be very able to help you stop it, all I can tell you, as all I know, is it has something to do..." Baled was finishing, but he lowered his voice tremendously, as so only he and a very perceptive creature, such as Jacob would be able to hear it audibly, "the dark side of the moon" Baled had said that dramatically, and thought better of himself to wink, this was serious. the Dark Side of the Moon was one of the most ancient and evil tomes ever written, banned out from all of Astria for centuries before the growth... if somebody capable had found that book, likely a woman (as they are stronger in Lunar force) than it could be devastating... Baled thanked Jacob for his time, and left, assuming he had interjected or replied nothing.

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
(((((def not Cylia.....her lunar magic was just to close to the creature magic that is the fuel of life for the creatures in the wilds....she is just a victim....and the power out there is MUCH MUCH higher than all of us......maybe not all of us combined after some magic items and power ups that we all know are about to happen on the adventure there......the only other people that felt the call but didnt fall to it like Cylia were The Beast Masters.....they dont hear the voice...just feel a sense of longing to go.....well there....he would just be able to point with a finger.....why the guild master himself is coming and the only person he trusts with him is his son........now Jacob is slowly closing in on being able to pin point it and know exactly how close or far he is from the source of the call....for Jacob isnt just "attuned" to the wild magic......he was made from it......just to clarify....some animals from before the growth still exist.....like Hans wolf.....it is NOT a creature of the wilds....why the wolf was still able to be trained and is loyal and mans best friend still....dogs and cats and mice and things are still all over the city....of course the bugs lived to.....bugs made from the growth are not the size of "bugs" anymore....hope that helps....and from the sound of it....i keep calling it "wild magic" for the sake of the RP i think it just became Lunar Magic........specifically of the Dark kind........-in my best Palpatine voice- "Feel! the Power! of The Dark Side!!" lol ok im done)))))
Jacobs face has always been hard to read due to how animalistic it is...but he tried to put on his best smile and placed a hand on Baled's shoulder.....forcing his tall figure to lean slightly, "worry not youngling....though i sense i shalt not be calling you youngling anymore.....for we are soon to be peers and companions.....but know your mate Cylia had nothing to do with the call i promise you.....i was there that day when you all ventured into the woods.....i felt the call same as her....it took me to my knees....near incapacitated me......luckily i was strong enough to with stand it....for if i had succumb like your female.....that day would have been much more disastrous.....she is just a victim....and apart of me feels so are a lot of other creatures out in the wilds....now making their way blindly to a force they have no will strong enough to stop......your mission is to stop that force.....my mission is to save as many as i can from it." ....and right then the same leader who spoke out against Jacob....proclaiming him to be a liar and scheming a trap walked up....shouldered past Baled.....and with doing his best to NOT look Jacob in the eyes he states, "move!!! beast!!!... i must speak to Sir Roland....my questions take priority over whatever he is doing right now." Jacob begins to explain Sir Roland is to not be interrupted, but before he can get much in the way of words out.....the guild leader begins to try and push past Jacob........Jacob puts a hand on the mans shoulder quickly stopping him in his tracks.....The Guild Leader trys to budge expecting jacob to be unable to stop him.......he doesnt move an inch.......and in that exact moment the facial expression on The Guild Leaders face changes.....to one of horror and disgust...."HOW DARE YOU!!! YOU'RE TRYING TO ATTACK ME JUST LIKE AN ANIMAL!!!!!!".....and as if they were waiting for a que....5 members of The Leaders Guild draw swords and come up from their table.....now eyes are starting to fall on the situation......and some of the other guilds members who were also not supportive begin placing their hands on weapons to and taking stances.......all eyes on Jacob.....

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Baled had smiled while talking to Jacob, when he was shouldered aside by the man, he had been irritated but didn't react, then once the swords and guns were beginning to get drawn, Baled shot is hands out, in mystical form. He had created a blue aura shield around himself and Jacob, and began explaining the situation, "If you'd like to see this man's body, I am sure he would be more then happy to turn around and show that Jacob was not harming him, just preventing him from interfering with a conversation in place" Baled said calmly, lacing his voice with empathetic magic, but not mind-controlling (the difference is that the empathetic magic is not forced upon someone, but rather, strongly suggested.) "Also, I wouldn't find it fair to relate Jacob to a beast, in fact," Baled said, turning to the man, "he seems to have more human in him than you do" he said, some spite in his voice, Baled was not a fan of aggressive people or instigators.
The shield had formed now around Baled and Jacob, and the man had been left outside of it. "I will be willing to take this shield down, if you all agree to put down your weapons, besides, I doubt a blade could punctuate this shield" Baled said, sparing a glance at Aydin, "except that one" he said honestly pointing at the morph spear, "But not in the way you'd think" he said. Baled began moving towards the exit, leaving the shield instead on Jacob, "Now, I am going to get some rest, and this shield will not fall, until you all put away your weapons, pretty good hieromantic law magic if i say so myself"
Baled walked calmly to the exit, trying to avoid any harsh movement that would set people off, if anyone were to make harsh contact with him , however, he would immediately enter ethereal mode, and rush far out.

Unwanted Tensions
Aydin had just reentered the Meeting hall when he witnessed 5 Hunters, weapons drawn facing off Jacob. Only moments after him being adressed by the new High Magi Guildmaster, who looked strangly asimilar to Baled, but he couldn't be, right? Last time Aydin saw him he was much smaller. "Maybe it's his big brother or something.", he tought. The guy walked past him and left.
The situation was still tense though. The hunters didn't seem to lower their weapons anytime soon, and their Guildmaster wqas still angrily yelling around.
Aydin just wanted to step in and help ease the Situation when he saw Grym turning around and walking straight over to the yelling Guildmaster.
"What is wrong with you?! Stand down! NOW!" Grym yelled. "I'm not taking orders from you! You Vanguard think you are so up and mighty. Never understood why everyone thinks you are the almighty protectors of Stalwart!"
And that was the last thing the Guildmaster was going to say today. Without giving the Guildmaster any chance to react, Grym hit him right in the jaw, followed by a loud cracking noice when his fist connected. "Know your place. I don't care who you think you are. But as far as I know you haven't even been outside this walls once!" Grym turned to the 5 Hunters. "And you! You will stand down. And then you'll leave. Otherwise the Vanguard will have to show you the door."

True Colors
At that moment the vanguard members find their way to each person with a weapon drawn....fast...as Sir Roland walks forward shaking his head...."I'm ashamed of you all in this time of crisis"....he grabs the guildmaster by the collar jerking him to his feet....."And to think I call most of you friends and happily welcomed you at my bar n Inn.....ashamed indeed." Roland begins to walk the leader straight out the hall as well as the vanguard escorting the rest....the townsfolk outside the hall were shocked and appalled at the spectical of them parading them down the streets to their respective guilds.....many asked what happened.....Rolands reply, "they showed their true colors inside that town hall tonight."
Jacob just shrugged slightly...and yawned and quickly made his way back to the inn.....in a way.....he was glad to be returning to the wilds....he would sleep with great ease tonight....he was thankful someone other than Roland stood up for him that night.

Off to Pseudosleep
Baled had returned home, and tried something he had thought of in his past dreams... though he had been scared to leave reality again, as what had happened last time... he figured it was important. Baled had figured out that most people's perception of dreams was that of a figment of their minds... Baled knew better, though he was not a Dream Mage of any sorts, he had figured out the obvious, it was not a thought process, indeed dreaming was being transported to another realm.
Baled would likely not provoke further studies, though with his odd dreams he wouldn't be a bad candidate, he was quite busy with reading spell catalogues at the moment. And this is what brought him to what he had learned in the destiny nightmare void... He realised he had actually learned while in there
Baled would at this time, attempt to transport himself into a dream as he fell asleep, along with a nighttime of spell tomes to browse, and in his sleep would study them vigorously.. he had known of people who had done this, including his father.. His father had, by all means, been a quick learner, but what really gave him an advantage? Studying while he slept.
Baled cast the spell and drifted off, and as he thought it worked out very well, he had studied in his dream, and even regrown some of his mana supply, more thoroughly than a normal night's sleep would (which is already quite fast)

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Sir Roland was first to the gate waiting for the arrival of the others...he was in his shinning hunters armor his diamond great sword tied to his back ....he had had his armor re shaped over the past few days....he was a lil smaller than he used to be...he waved at The Beast Master and his son who were approaching....the looks on their faces almost to serious....Jacob was out a few yards into the wild lands posted up in a tree....everyone at the gate could see him but his back was to them and he was staring in the direction they are supposed to be going.

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Baled arrived early, but not too much, he was a bit groggy, even after a shower. That sleep spell had been efficient, but once he woke up he felt he was unsure if he had gotten sleep at all... 'oh well', he thought, 'a mage knows better than to trust his senses over his mind' he finished the thought by coughing into his hand, but muting it so nobody had to here it.
He headed over to Roland's group, Martin's father had got them both some fairly nice armor, useful, but probably won't save all those many lives. Just basic armor, Baled had brought his enchanted short sword, which his father had put a mighty strong bond on. His sword could be powered with his magic spells and mana as fuel. Baled hadn't much combat know-how, but he figured by using some Aeromagic he could get some graceful swings out. Besides, he would have to readjust his style to his height and weight now anyway, "That's pretty weird, and I seem oddly fine with it" he thought, "i'll have to do some internal questioning later, not now though" he thought, walking up to Sir Roland at the lead. He praised his father handywork with the shield, and assumed his dad would have helped him out with a lot of other things on their partnership, his dad never could be called not generous.
Martin came in behind Baled, carrying a hammer, kind of funny, most people go for Warhammers of Battlehammers, but martin was just using a regular hammer... It would probably be better with his powers, but also not as good in combat... well minus the fact it could sear flesh off the bone... okay, deadly enough.
Baled was standing now casting a shield on himself, he secretly borrowed some of the traces left on Sir Roland's suit, he didn't take any of it's mana or power, just read his fathers blueprints and replicated it, his shield came out stronger than he had ever made one, still not as great as Roland's but damn fine.
Baled set his short sword to glow a bit, along with his armor, which Martin's father had placed a few magic plates in for effect. Now he was looking pretty nice, clean polished armor, with glowing plates on it, very neat.
He awaited further instructions from Roland

Final Preperations at the Gates
((The great feeling when you have to rewrite an entire RP post because you hit refresh by accident before submitting it, losing 1 hour of your life writing it. Glorious.))
When Aydin arrived at the gate, he noticed that most of the other Hunters had already been here and were now finishing their final preparations.
While glancing at the group he noticed Denning inspecting his giant Lance and Shield. Both were roughly his size, if not bigger, and therefore had quite the weight behind them. Denning didn't mind though, as he was training with them for at least 8 years now. When he noticed Aydin, he gave him a quick wave and started applying a mix of green, brown and black waxes to his weapons and armor, a camouflage technique of the Vanguard to make sure they stay hunters when they are in the wild and don't become the hunted.
Aydin waved back, adjusted his green waistcloth, and then approached Sir Roland to report. "Sir Roland! Vanguard Knight-Sergeant Aydin reporting in, preparations are completed. We will make sure that our entire equipment is secured and packed up nice and tight to minimize sound. If you need anything for us, feel free to call us over. Knight-Sergeant Denning and I are at your command, Sir." He adjusted the straps on his big rucksack, that was covering his entire back from above the shoulders to below his waist, placed his right fist above his heart and bowed slightly to Roland.
He then turned around and proceeded to check everyone's equipment, starting with the mages.
He showed Martin and Baled how to pack up their survival backpack for maximum efficiency and minimum noise. "Anything bulky on the bottom, okay? Better for spreading out the weight, you'll be wearing those for quite some time now without getting a chance to put them down, so it should be as comfortable as 30 pounds of equipment and food can be. It's tedious, but it'll save your life better than any weapon or spell ever could." He got up and look at them. "Flashy armor you got there. I like the motivation of that. Shows you are determined to make a change out there. But you might want to check in with my partner over there and get some camo on them. Yeah I know, you could just cast a spell and you are invisible. But there are many different monsters out there. Some have a great sense of smell, some have to rely on their eyesight and others notice the change in the natural mana. That's why we use colored wax. First of all, it hides us from the eyesight ones without attracting the mana seekers. And secondly, the wax is mixed with natural incense, masking our smell with some of the most common plants in the wild. I'm not forcing you to do it, it's just an advice from one Hunter to Hunter."
When he was done talking and checking the gear, Aydin got up and started to leave before he stopped and faced Baled. "Your face looks like that of a boy I met a few days ago. You don't know a young mage called Baled by chance, do you?"

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
(dude that sucks, happens to me often, normally my second rewrites are much less clean. A trick i use is to select all and then copy my post every couple sentences or paragraph or whenever, so if i mess up i can get it all back from clipboard )
Baled had listened to Aydin as if he was a well known friend, and had followed the packing instructions properly, this would have crushed him a week ago, but now it was manageable, though he still cast a small cloud around it, limiting the weight at about 15 pounds or so for ease, this would be easy to do with a backpack, not easy to do with a large person falling from the sky...
At the hunter's advice, he went to the pile and applied the waxes, as well as a couple mage tricks enchanted on the wax for even extra hiding skills. He had flushed a bit when Aydin called him a fellow hunter, to be true, he had liked Aydin very much when he met him, nice guy, probably pretty honest to, or at least as much as you can ask from someone.
When he was asked the question about if he knew Baled, he visibly looked shocked, without even the reactions to hide the expression, he flushed again, 'well Baled,' he thought, 'you can't expect everyone to recognize your aura like those mages do,' he continued, 'not everyone takes aura-sensory classes from the primary high magi' he finished the thought and looked back at Aydin, realising his eyes had darted down, he puffed out his chest, he wasn't a kid any more, he should look bigger.
"Uh, yeah I know him..." he said, it would be pretty hard to get this out, but using some sort of magical way of communicating it didn't seem fair, so he bit the bullet per se, "It's a bit of a story, but he was sent to the hospital a few days ago, had a lot of bad dreams, and uh..." he stumbled, then found the perfect ending, "Grew a foot taller" he said, less sheepish than when he begun, he gave a wink, and then tried to hurry off, hoping that would suffice

Final Preperations at the Gates
Aydin just stood there, confused and slightly shocked. "Is he saying that... He is...? But how? Urgh, I'll never get those mages. Situations like that freak me out." he thought and finished helping Martin to set up his gear, as he seemed to have some problems with his new armor, which is not surprising given the fact that he likely never wore a suit of armor before.
He then proceeded with assisting Hans and Zimmer in refitting their wolf's armor, mostly in optimizing the carry pouch placement for easier accessibility for the whole group if necessary. He applied camouflage wax to the back of Dennings armor, discussed tactics for perimeter securement with Sophia and helped tighten and adjust some straps on her armor and backpack. "At least you Vanguard guys look like you could handle yourself out there. Let's see how racks up more trophies on this expo. A clean kill doesn't count if you have nothing to prove it with." Sophia said laughing while tightening her backpack straps one last time.
Only one "Hunter" to check up on left. The Alchemist. He wasn't important enough for Aydin to remember the name at first, especially since he hadn't spent the night with the other Hunters. "Schmidt" Aydin called out, remembering his name. Schmidt looked startled for a second, dropping a vial when Aydin called out to him. Even though his age, he didn't seem to have ever been outside the gates a lot, and if, then not very far. He was wearing his basic Alchemist Garb, which was a dark green-brown tunic with brown pants. He was wearing an odd-fitting metal breastplate with fitting gauntlets now though. Both seemed to have been last-minute purchases at the local blacksmith. Not to mention his enormous backpack filled with who-knows-what and pans hanging from it. "I'm not going to argue with you about this matter, but... You'll have to leave at least half of the stuff you are trying to take along here. You'll not make it far like that, either you break your back lugging the weight around, or you get killed by a monster because you can't get anywhere because you are being dragged down. Here let me help you sort out some of that stuff, and then we'll call for someone from your guild to take that stuff back to your guild hall. Understood?"
He was hesitant to reply, let his head hang in thought, but finally agreed. "...Fine... I tell you now though. We'll regret not bringing some of the luxuries." he said, starting to unpack his bag again.

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Baled decided he had some spare mana left even before he would set out on that dangerous trip, so he put a quick enchantment on his lights, they were not only flashy now, they would also act as a flash if Baled them to do so. If Baled were to charge his gear with mana, even a small bit, they would flash and scare off all the high mana creatures in the area (mana formed, not mana adept, therefore mages would be safe).
He thought about Jacob then, and realize he would have to dip in a tiny bit to his mana supply in order to stop the warding flash from scaring Jacob, he was sure his mind could handle it, but he would be urged against staying...
He cast a mute spell for this spell around Jacob's aura, which excepted it, though it was a bit rougher to get into than most humans... He went over and told Jacob of his process as simply as he could so he didn't feel anything bad about Baled's interference with his aura.
Baled was getting eager to leave, he was sure the second he left his mana supply would charge up much quicker, in fact, he was sure without causing a distraction he would be overclocked, and might have to cast off a few spells in order to avoid mana burn.... most mages wouldn't have a problem with mana burn unless suddenly overloaded by it, by Baled was far too adept to follow that order

Good Bye Stalwart
(((sorry guys i had to fire one of my employees at work.....now im working a lot more and a bunch of other shit.....my posts my have to be a little shorter for awhile....as much as it kills me to do so...this is my third time trying to type this so ima just going to short in and get it up fast so as i dont get interrupted again.)))
Sir Roland gave them all a moment before he called them all to gather around...."we will be setting out now....i feel we may have needed more time to prepare and practice with each other....but sadly we were not warranted such time....when, not if, but when we get into trouble out there i want you to understand one thing first....i want you all to stay as safe as the situation allows....know that me and Jacob will be the ones drawing the attention and doing most of the close quarter combat....we are meant to take hits, or better yet to with stand them.....so we will need your support assuredly, so do what you can.....but please dont try to be a hero.....heros die in the wild lands....and trust that even if it may look like we are in dire need....there is probably still a good chance we will just handle it....so try not to worry too much......just keep your heads out there."
Jacob got down from the tree, thanked the mage for....well whatever he did.....but told him most likely it was un needed.......Jacob had his own thought, that lights and flashes dont bother him but if there was anything like that that he would himself call a weakness....it would be shrill loud noises........his ears are to sensitive for all that.......
Jacob walked over and stood beside Roland, Roland was a stout man, but he was still dwarfed by the sheer size of The Wild One.....Jacob wasnt in his town clothes today.....his fur covered body all exposed except for a tie around cloth around his waste....he would hunt for his own food out there and didnt have a real need for tools or anything of the like.....luxuries are wasted on Jacob....
Sophia "Ace" was off alone to the side just listening.....she had her bow in her hand and the rifle on her back....and some trail rations a bed roll and the ammo in a bag strung across her shoulder.....Good.....im glad to have them standing infront of me......much easier to pick off distracted opponents...she was pretty certain they would all need her a lot more than they realized......
after a second Jacob spoke up......"im ready to go now Roland....that sensation just itches me.....and i feel once i start moving towards it ill start feeling better.....im ready to go." he looked out over the group. "Thank you." he says to them all. "Thank you for coming......i dont know what we will find out there.....but do try to keep an open mind.....not everything in the wild lands.....is completely wild," everyone knew he was talking about himself, "and just like your friend, Cylia," he stared hard at them when he said this, "they may not be in full control of themselves out there."......the alchemist chimes in quick, "monster is a monster."........and Jacob just as quick turns and stares at him and begins to walk towards him....the alchemist begins to shrink away....."Becareful what you say from this point forward Schmidt......because this monster......may be the only person capable of saving you once we are out there."

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Baled had acknowledged Roland's words about not being a hero, he would obey, though he was sure his father's blood would at some point throw obey out the window and embrace heroism instead. Baled had always been very in control of himself, so he was quite sure he would be fine...
Baled had packed his things his mother had told him to bring... but he had thought of not bringing a bed roll, after all , a heat spell, insect ward-away and sleep spell would have the same effect and require much less weight...
As they began to walk, Baled realised he would get tired quickly, so after a few moments, he cast a muscle loop spell in order to continue his pace at the same speed while using much less energy, as the mana was really moving his legs, along with a sort of temporal trick... He could also speed it up or stop it if needed, just with a quick jolt of energy into the mana around his leg muscles.
It was uncomfortable at first, but he got used to it. He decided to read a book as he walked, he had limited himself to only one, one of his favorites, as to conserve weight, he would be sad to lose this tome, but it would be fine, he had imprinted it into his bedroom wall as well, and had a good imprint inside himself. He was also very used to reading books as he walked, total scholar kid

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
they started walking.....about half a day goes by.....through that time Jacob is scouting ahead and returning from time to time to make sure everyone is still going the right direction.....the alchemist stops every so often to mess with a plant or moss or to collect sap.....twice he had to run to catch back up to the group almost getting left behind......Sophia had posted in a tree to watch him....though she was unseen to the alchemist.....for everyone else....they didnt seem to care and just hoped he better catch back up....
it was strange......and Jacob was the first to call it out.....it was very uneventful.....and silent.......it was almost as if the creatures of this area had just........left......Roland had been blatantly walking in front.....it was almost certainly because he was trying to make sure he was seen first......if anything was to see them.....after a half a days march most of the members began to complain and tire.....so roland found a crop of trees after awhile kinda close to a river....and he began to start making camp after Jacob did another scout....just to report still no signs of the normal life out here.....

Re: The Wild Lands <CURRENT/ACTIVE>
Baled had noticed the odd anomaly as well, and he had been measuring the leylines of the mana for most the day, he reported his findings to Roland:
"Sir," he said, approaching the leader, "It seems the leylines have been dragged away.. somebody did this, everything that should be killing us has been stolen from in front of us..."
he said, a bit scared, "i think whoever we are following knows we are coming, and..." he was quite scared now, "has an army of the deadliest things in the wildlands.."
(i hope this was okay with your story, i assume something called them away and that something is the enemy... Baled thinks we are walking into a trap)
