you're just not asking enough times per video.

start with begging, have some begging in the middle, and then end with begging - this is the bare minimum.

I also recommend doing a self-deprecating segue out of nowhere in the middle of the vid, both reminding ppl to sub and to make them worry about your mental health.

You should also preface and end any ad reads you do with mentioning that 'subbing to the channel really helps a lot guys'

Though still you're left a bit short of ideal. Seven or eight reminders per video is the golden number... though longer videos will of course require more frequent and insistent reminders to subscribe.

For best practices, try about 10 reminders per 20 minutes of content, research illegally harvested from smartphones show this as the tipping point where viewers would rather leave than hear your obnoxious promotion any longer. Depending on the age range of your audience, you may be able to get away with more, though.

Hmm, phpbb doesn't seem to allow uploading signature images, but I guess people could post their signature as an attachment to a single post somewhere, then copy the link to the image in that post, to use in the signature. Bit convoluted but seems to work. For example here I'm using the img tags to link to the attachment I posted in the counting game thread:

whats a registered account? ive had an imgur account for ages now (actually my first stuff on there was for ASDF, so thats probably why i made it) but i dont know if "registered" means something funny like "money paying" or "newsletter subscribing"

Most people upload to imgur without ever creating an account, it was the most convenient way to share images
