apparently they wrote/performed Ocean Man? I love that song! Is their other stuff also insanely good like that?
They make good songs, but only when they want to. I don't mean it like they take 10 years to make an album, I mean it like half their songs are incredibly weird and make little to no sense, while the other half are also weird but are very fun to listen to.

Finally got around to listening to more music. Here's my reviews:
Spoiler:
Fair warning, I didn't finish most of these songs. I gave them all at least a couple minutes... IMO, even if you made a song which was 50% mediocrity and 50% the greatest song ever made, it would be maybe a 7/10 song overall... consistency matter
Beyonce - 16 Carriages
6/10
Beyonce herself has a good voice, but literally everything else was meh. Very repetitive. Didn't finish.
Since this song was above a 5/10, I listened to (some of) Beyonce's top song. It was called Halo. It was a lot better, but still not particularly great.
Beth Gibbons - Reaching Out
3/10
Listening to this wasn't that enjoyable to me. The visuals would lower the experience by a point or two, but I'm not rating based on that.
Didn't finish.
Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan
5/10
I've heard of these guys a lot. I guess they're one of the first metal bands or smth? I didn't really feel it. Didn't finish.
Since they got a 5/10 or higher I listened to their top song on YT 'Paranid' it was more enjoyable (didnt finish it)... I'm not a big fan I think.
Blue Boy - Remember Me
3/10
Not interesting to me. Pretty repetitive. I don't think I get it. Didn't finish.
Brittany Howard - What Now
6/10
The lyrics were repetitive, but kind of decent. Lost interest though the sound wasn't great.
Since they got a 5/10 or higher I listened to their top song on YT 'Stay High, it was fairly upbeat but didn't do anything for me. Also didn't finish it
Burial - Boy Sent from Above
0/10
This shit is so ass.
Maybe one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I got two minutes in before I clicked off because it was legitimately causing discomfort.
Would have clicked off sooner but I was in a game...
I think someone had to be trolling with this one, if you recommended this song because you seriously like it... I think you're crazy and need help
This is serial killer music.
Just gross
Caskets - Glass Heart
7/10
This is almost something I would listen to.
I'm picky with music because there's so much of it and most of it is pretty good.
I think I finished this one.
Charlotte Gainsbourg - Such a Remarkable Day
4/10
It never picked up for me. Didn't finish it.
Chelsea Wolfe - Unseen World
4/10
Wasn't particularly good. The comment section is psychotic though... apparently the artist is a 'Wiccan'... so larping or mentally ill. Gotcha.
Didn't finish this.
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
7/10
It was almost something I'd listen to. Didn't finish it though.
This is the band's most popular song, so I didn't listen to anything else.
Future Islands - The Tower
7.5/10
The best song of the ones I listened to here. Really heartfelt, which adds value because music is a kind of art. The sound itself was also some of the best to my ears.
Overall, I still wouldn't listen to it twice, but I think I finished this one.
It's an above average song. To me, every other song on this list was either average or below average. The average is not 5/10 but 7/10 on my personal scale because I think music in general tends to be enjoyable.
Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd - Young Metro
3/10
Didn't like it at all.
The actresses were hot tho. For this reason, one of the songs I actually finished lmao
Overall, majorly disappointing. If you think I didn't give a song you really like a fair chance, let me know and I'll listen to it again/fully. It's totally possible the song takes some time to pick up, but it's impossible for me to know in advance whether a song 'gets good' or 'stays the same' so I don't waste my time to listen to each one fully. Music, even more than visual art, hates wasted 'space'... I'm saying, if a song has even 20 cumulative seconds that are subpar, the whole song suffers. This is just my belief, though. Maybe some of you would be okay listening to nails on a chalkboard for 30 minutes if you got to listen to heavenly hymns for 30 minutes afterwards... I'd just ask to listen to the radio

Also, its plausible for a lot of the songs I didn't finish that if I listened more closely, I would find something to enjoy. However, I normally expect a song to come to me, not the other way around. I've experienced that music can catch your attention and have its effect on you, I don't think I should have to put in 100% attention to enjoy a song. Of course, I do pay attention to songs I enjoy, it makes the experience better. But, if the song can't grab the attention, it's not going to be worth listening deeply to.

It's like sitting your child down, looking them in the eyes and saying with an air of solemnity, "If you remember one thing I will ever tell you in my life, remember this:" and then listing your go-to mcdonalds order... The content matter isn't deserving of the level of respect and attentiveness that you'd be giving it.

And note to self, here's what I have left:

Re: dr. seuss fish rap
I've seen that guy with the guitar before! Albeit, I only know him from doomscrolling on YT shorts (prolly at 3 am or smth) but I do know him!
This rap goes surprisingly hard for being literally a joke.
this is why you always let a man cook.
...
except hitler, he probably should not have been allowed to cook...
...
actually, mussolini either...
...
okay, if you're a wannabe fascist dictator, you cant cook. sounds fair?
